Pleb Say #25

For our Pleb Say event in May, we were honored to host Carlino from Simple Proof. He shared his personal bitcoin journey and shed light on their current project in Guatemala. Last year, during their elections, they collaborated with the government to time stamp voting ballots on the bitcoin blockchain, allowing for transparent verification by the public. This initiative aimed to address past concerns of voting corruption and tampering. Simple Proof managed to reduce the publication time of voting documents from 6 days to just 10 minutes, making it extremely challenging to alter the results hastily. The interactive session with Carlino was enlightening, with attendees posing insightful questions that he answered with utmost transparency. Which was followed with a live software demo showcasing the efficiency of their system. The San Antonio Bitcoin Club expresses gratitude to Simple Proof and Carlino for sharing their insights and possibly paving the way for their system to enter Bexar County in the future, providing a secure "cover your ass insurance" for local voting processes. Below is a short documentary we showed as well providing context for what they are doing.
