In September, the San Antonio Bitcoin Club had the absolute pleasure of bringing in Neal Flesher philosopher, former U.S. Army officer, husband, father, and now published author of the freshly released book Modern Chains. Neal took the stage and delivered one of the most powerful talks we’ve ever hosted.

He walked us through why we have to put morality before macroeconomics, how the literal iron chains of the past have quietly shape-shifted into the invisible chains of debt, credit, and endless consumption, and what living under that kind of financial servitude actually does to a person’s soul, dignity, and long-term decision making. Drawing ancient truths from Aristotle and other great philosophical minds, Neal made the case that sound money isn’t just an economic upgrade it’s a moral and spiritual necessity.

The room was packed, the energy was electric, and when it ended people didn’t want to leave. Seasoned Bitcoiners and total newcomers alike walked out inspired, armed with a totally new lens on money, freedom, and responsibility. We’ve already had multiple people tell us that it was hands down the best Bitcoin talk they’ve seen in 2025, and it happened right here in the Alamo City. If you missed it, you don’t have to take our word for it watch the whole thing for yourself.
